My ouboard developed an idling issue and complete loss of power at 3/4 throttle. It is an older but well maintained Yamaha outboard that few mechanics are even willing to work on. After months and several thousand dollars of dealing with a local shop that made several incorrect "guesses" at what was going on, I took it to the Boathouse. This was the closest master certified Yamaha mechanic. They examined the video and had the same information that the prior mechanic had, and accurately diagnosed it as a fuel pump issue. No real time lake test needed which was the reason the other shop used for incorrectly diagnosing the problem twice. The Boathouse did the repairs for a very fair price, and took it for a final lake test to be sure the problem was resolved. I was thankful for this as I live 2+ hours away and wanted to be as close to certain the issue was resolved before bringing it home. I also had them place a plug in a convenient spot to connect and remove a new trolling motor. The workmanship was outstanding and they did a great job of keeping me updated on the progress. I plan to return and have them install new electronics. Only complaint I have is wishing they were closer to home :). Will definitely make the travels to them in future for all needed repairs!! I have used several boat services in my 19 years on Hartwell Lake. None have been as responsive and customer-centric as Boathouse of Seneca. They know we are weekend warriors at the lake house, and offered to drive to our dock and bring the boat to their service center in Seneca. I hope they keep this philosophy as they grow their business.
